Description
Kopek coin, emblematic of Shahin Giray's reign. Reverse displays a thinner wreath surrounding the legend, complemented by the distinguished Tamgha. The obverse portrays intricate Arabic inscriptions, which reads "خان" (Khan) and "شاهين" (Shahin).
Shahin Giray reigned as the Khan of the Crimean Khanate in the 18th century. As a prominent member of the esteemed Giray dynasty, he was at the helm during an era characterized by political tumult and complex ties with the Ottoman Empire. Despite the Crimean Khanate being under Ottoman suzerainty, Shahin Giray endeavored to amplify the Khanate's autonomy and broaden his own sphere of influence. This pursuit often led to conflicts with the Ottoman rulers, culminating in his eventual deposition.
This piece is considered rare and the edge is a bit rough. Overall the coin is very preserved.
